About

The SÜSS PM5 MicroTec probe station is used to establish contact between small devices and state of the art measurement units.

Description

In the development of electronics made from organic or inorganic devices contacting to small dimension devices is a key challenge. The MicroTec probe station provides an environment with up to 7 contact possibilities using various probe geometries. The stereo microscope enables fast localization of contacting areas while the 6” vacuum chuck fixes the sample. The isolated dark box prevents electromagnetic interference.

Technical specifications:

6” vacuum chuck

3 triaxal (precise X, Y, Z movements) and 4 coaxial probe heads, all with vacuum base

Stereo zoom microscope

Isolated dark box

various electrical characterisation can be attached (see Keysight parameter analyser, SMU, LCR Meter provided by Joanneum)

Case study:

A researcher is developing a new geometry of active matrix notes based on organic transistors. After the matrix fabrication the performance of each element requires testing to identify the spread of the parameters employing the fabrication route chosen for this manipulation. The probe stations together with a parameter analyzer reveals a low spread in the on/off ratios of each element as well as switch on voltage revealing the successful development of the matrix.
