About

The Micro Array Spotter is equipped for printing of biomolecules mainly on foil based substrates. The foil substrates can be transported through the machine in Roll-to-Roll mode.

Description

The Micro Array Spotter is equipped for printing of biomolecules (like nucleic acids, proteins etc) mainly on foil based substrates. The foils can contain microfluidic chip structures – which can be produced e.g. by imprinting techniques. The device can be used to print on polymer foils from rolls, since it is equipped with a foil unwinder and a rewinder unit which allows Roll-to-Roll processing.

A main application is printing of sensor areas in biosensor chips.

Technical specifications:

Specifications:

  • Max Substrate Size: 300 mm x 300 mm or endless in case of R2R
  • Max Substrate Thickness: ~ 10 mm
  • Max Print Speed (application dependents):
  • Max Stage Temperature: Room temperature, or cooled down to ~4°
  • Stage Accuracy: 5 µm

Case study:

After the fabrication of microfluidic chips, the user requires the deposition of markers on specific position on the chip to enable chemiluminescence evaluations. For this the Micro Array Spotter is programmed to set drops at specific positions so that the desired functionality is completed.
